چکیده
Objectives: To evaluate in vitro, the effect of 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) pretreatment on microleakage and shear bond strength resin-modified glass ionomer cement to primary dentin. Materials methods: A total 80 extracted sound molars were included this in-vitro study randomly assigned into four equal groups (n=20 teeth/group) according evaluation test performed. For test, class V cavities prepared buccal surface forty teeth allocated Group I (experimental)(n=20): Primary dentin pretreated with SDFfor three minutes II (control)(n=20): treated distilled water for minutes. Class restored RMGIC, thermocycled, immersed 1% methylene blue solution 24h, sectioned longitudinally a bucco-lingual direction then examined under stereomicroscope at 40x magnification. Also SBS grouped III (experimental) (n=20): flat SDF. IV (control) water. Using Universal Testing machine determines. Failure mode was evaluated using stereomicroscope. Data collected subjected statistical analysis. Results: There no statistically significant difference between experimental control group (P=0.21). However, had significantly higher than group. (P=0.0001) Conclusion: SDF does not influence marginal seal RMGIC it raises them.

Shear bond strength evaluation of resin composite to resin-modified glass-ionomer cement using three different resin adhesives vs. glass-ionomer based adhesive
Background: The clinical success of sandwich technique depends on the strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) bonding to both dentin and resin composite. Therefore, the shear bond strength (SBS) of resin composite bonded to RMGIC utilizing different resin adhesives versus a GIC-based adhesive was compared. Materials and methods: In this in vitro study, 84 holes (5×2 mm) were pre...

AIM The aim of this study was to determine in vitro the shear bond strength (MPa) and the type of bond failure when resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) was bonded with different tooth-colored restorative materials. METHODS AND MATERIALS The RMGIC tested was Fuji II LC (FL) and the tooth-colored restorative materials used were composite resin Point-4 (P4), Compomer Dyract AP (DY), and ...
متن کاملThe effect of oxalate-based desensitizers on the microleakage and shear bond strength of resin modified glass ionomer
Background The first line of intervention to alleviate tooth sensitivity is to use dentin desensitizers such as oxalate-based desensitizers. When the dentin sensitivity continues even after application of desensitizers the next intervention would be restoration of the lesion. The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the effect of prior application of oxalate-based desensitizer on the m...
متن کاملBond Strength of Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement to Primary Dentin after Cutting with Different Bur Types and Dentin Conditioning
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of different bur types and acid etching protocols on the shear bond strength (SBS) of a resin modified glass ionomer cement (RM-GIC) to primary dentin. Forty-eight clinically sound human primary molars were selected and randomly assigned to four groups (n=12). In G1, the lingual surface of the teeth was cut with a carbide bur until a 2.0...
متن کاملEffect of etching and light-curing time on the shear bond strength of a resin-modified glass ionomer cement.
The aim of this study was to assess the influence of etching and light-curing time on the shear bond strength (SBS) and adhesive remnant index (ARI) of a resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) upon debonding of orthodontic brackets. Sixty-eight bovine permanent incisors were obtained and embedded in acrylic resin. Edgewise metallic brackets were bonded to the teeth with Fuji Ortho LC RMGIC...
